The Victory is in Jesus
Text: Exodus 17:1-16

In chapter 17 of Exodus there are two events. Both occur while Israel is camped at Rephidim. After traveling in the desert heat for so long, once again, in their tough circumstances they find themselves asking, ‘Is the Lord with us or not?”. Then they are attacked by Amalek and the Amalekites. Not a great week for anyone. When their hearts are rebelling against the Lord, he pours out his grace to them with water from the rock and when their enemy attacks, whenever the staff of God is lifted up, representing the presence and power of God, the enemy is defeated and they declare ‘The Lord is my Banner’.
The battle you and I face is sin. God’s grace flows and Jesus was lifted up for you so you could have victory. How is your faith today? Is your faith in Jesus strong or weak? Are you living in the victory God has provided for you or have you been questioning his presence and not realizing what he has done for you? Let Exodus 17 speak to your heart today!
